“We can’t jump off bridges anymore because our iPhones will get ruined. We can’t take skinny dips in the ocean, because there’s no service on the beach and adventures aren’t real unless they’re on Instagram. Technology has doomed the spontaneity of adventure and we’re helping destroy it every time we Google, check-in, and hashtag.”
Here are some things I put on/do to my face on a regular basis. When I was collecting all of these items from the bottom of my purse I realized how drastically different in price some of these items are. Which is cool because like, diversity. But really, I splurge on the things that are going to last me the longest like foundation and a nice blush, and scrimp (I really scrimp) on the things that are more disposable like mascara and powder.
First, I smear a pea sized amount, that is literally all you need, of that Laura Mercier foundation ($42) all over my face. Then I take the same brush that I use for powder, blush, and bronzer (oops) and coat my face with NYC Loose Powder (roughly $3, I can’t remember). The NARS blush ($30) pictured is Oasis and I’m a little pissed about how it looks on their website. I feel like the people over at NARS think Oasis is like, brown/mauve and it’s really more of a berry as shown. I dab that on the apples of my cheeks and do the same with that elf bronzer (ONE DOLLAR). Sometimes I put on a mixture of those Too Faced eye shadows ($38. I’m pretty positive I got that palette 2 years ago and I’ve only hit pan once), but usually I just take the darkest brown and fill my brows in with an eye shadow brush and leave the lids bare. My mascara choices fluctuate but I truly find that cheap elf mascara ($3) does the trick. The Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss lipstick ($5) in 103 is good for every day but if I’m feeling summer-y I dab on Morange by MAC ($15, pictured on the left and is a bright orange despite looking pink) on top of it for a nice mix.
This all takes me about 4 minutes.
Pictured atop a couple old Carey mags because she’s super mass right now, you know?
